Ranks
Not to be confused with Discord roles.
Ranks, also known as groups, are awarded based on a combination of factors, including donations (currently unavailable), community involvement, and staff status throughout Inferris. Different ranks offer varying levels of privileges and responsibilities. Ranks use a branch system, allowing some players to have multiple ranks at once.
Rank acquisition[edit | edit source]
Donations:
Inferris incurs ongoing costs to run its services, including a Minecraft network consisting of five servers, a RESTful API, MySQL database, Redis service, email service, Discord bot application, and a full website that hosts the forums, support center, wiki, and internal documentation. All of this operates on a bare-metal dedicated server, costing approximately $25.00 USD per month. After one year of operating the services and renewing the domain, the annual cost will exceed $288.00 USD.
In the future, supporting Inferris through donations may grant access to certain groups to express gratitude for helping us maintain our services. Donations are currently closed and will only open under three conditions:
- The Discord and its associated Minecraft network are fully launched.
- Inferris requires additional resources to maintain its services.
- The cost to maintain such services becomes unaffordable or risks causing financial instability in any way.
Staff Positions
Moderators are appointed after being selected to join the onboarding process after filling out an application. There are no applications for a position of Administrator, or the community team..
Non-staff ranks[edit | edit source]
Supporter[edit | edit source]
The Supporter rank is not obtainable at the moment, although it does exist on the Minecraft server and forums. Until donations are open, this rank will be dormant.
Perks:
- Exclusive access to closed testing phases.
- An exclusive display tag on Discord, the Minecraft server, and the forum.
- Special forum privileges, including the ability to set animated GIF avatar.
- The contribution goes a long way. It not only nurtures the growth of our community but also sustains the essential services that keep Inferris a vibrant haven for connection and meaningful interaction.
Staff ranks[edit | edit source]
Inferris staff members are integral parts of the community, and must be 18 years or older of age to volunteer. Staff actively participate in discussions, offer assistance, and contribute to the overall well-being of the community. While they have responsibilities to ensure the smooth operation of the platforms, they remain active members themselves. Below are the current ranks of the staff group with their retrospective responsibilities and permissions. However, certain permissions are kept private to maintain project security and to discourage applications for the wrong reasons.
